Pilot Project

The Pilot: Santiago de Cuba
Lighting the future, one hospital at a time.

Scope & Purpose

We’re starting in Santiago de Cuba... Bringing renewable, resilient energy to four major hospitals and key water stations. This pilot protects healthcare, keeps water flowing, and powers hope and it’s designed to expand to neighborhoods across the city.

Key Facts

  • Beneficiaries: Up to 500,000 people.

  • System Components: Solar + wind generation, battery storage, hydrogen backup.

  • Budget: $80–115M

  • Timeline: 36 months

    • Phase 1: Create Solar Footprint and Storage Capacity

    • Phase 2: Integrate Hospitals & water purification systems

    • Phase 3: Expand to adjacent residential neighborhoods

Why It Matters

  • Keeps lights on in ICUs and operating rooms.

  • Eliminates diesel generators - costly and polluting.

  • Bootstraps expansion using savings from displaced fuel.
